World Environment Day was observed on June 5, 2025, with a series of meaningful activities centered on the global theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution.” The celebration aimed to raise awareness among students about the urgent need to protect our environment and reduce plastic usage. By engaging young minds in both reflective and action-oriented tasks, the school sought to instill a sense of responsibility and empower every student to contribute to a cleaner, greener future.
The day commenced with a special assembly that underscored the importance of conserving nature in our daily lives. A student delivered a thought-provoking speech highlighting personal and collective strategies for reducing plastic waste.
Class X students presented a captivating skit about ocean pollution. Through dramatic scenes and emotive dialogue, they portrayed stranded marine animals tangled in plastic debris and the ripple effects of human neglect. The performance drove home the message that ocean ecosystems are under threat—and that each of us can play a part in safeguarding marine life by cutting back on single-use plastics.
Building on this momentum, the school launched a “No Plastic” Challenge, inviting students to avoid using any plastic products for an entire day. Those who successfully completed the challenge were formally recognized during the assembly, receiving certificates and eco-friendly tokens as a testament to their commitment.
As part of their hands-on learning experience, students embarked on a botanical garden of the school campus. Organized into small teams, each group explored a designated zone, identifying and recording both the common and botanical names of the on the campus. This activity is not only to deepen their knowledge of local flora but also reinforce their attachment to nature which can lead to significant positive change in them.
