Reading Day 2025: Celebrating the Joy of Reading

Updated: 2 days ago

Reading Week 2025 was inaugurated with great enthusiasm by Dean and Senior Principal, Dr. Leelamma Thomas, marking the start of a vibrant celebration of literature. Students set up class libraries and took part in DEAR Time (Drop Everything and Read), dedicating 15 minutes daily to reading.

The highlight was the READ-A-THON Challenge, encouraging purposeful reading across diverse genres. Themed days like Fiction Day, Non-Fiction Day, and Newspaper Day added variety and excitement.

Creative competitions during club periods—such as poster making, bookmark designing, book cover creation, literary quizzes, and book reviews—kept students actively engaged. The interactive ‘Unlock the Book Challenge’ further enriched the experience.

Reading Day featured a speech, honoring P. N. Panicker, a lively ‘Tales Come Alive’ Character Parade, and a Favorite Book Parade. A skit titled “The Magic of Reading” showcased the transformative power of books.

The week ended with a Prize Distribution Ceremony, celebrating winners and READ-A-THON achievers. Reading Week 2025 rekindled a love for books and learning.
