Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 15th August 2024, by the staff, students, and parents to mark the 77th anniversary of Mother India’s independence. A sense of happiness and pride was clearly visible on the faces of all those who gathered, as India celebrated its 78th glorious year of freedom. The school campus was beautifully decorated with flags and balloons to commemorate the day.


The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. K V Thomas, Director of Campion School hoisted the National Flag. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urging them to take pride in being Indian and to fulfill their duties with responsibility. Kumari Diyaan D’Souza, the School Leader, delivered an inspiring Independence Day speech, highlighting the importance of fulfilling one’s duties and responsibilities towards the community and enjoying freedom without hindering others. Deputy School Leader, Master Arjun Sunilkumar, led everyone in taking the Pledge. This was followed by a musical rendition by the school choir, who sang patriotic songs that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the motherland.


Students from Campion Kindergarten presented a mesmerizing performance that touched the hearts of many. The middle school students presented a skit paying tribute to the leaders of the freedom struggle, which garnered great appreciation from the audience. There was a strong sense of pride and patriotism in everyone’s heart. The high school students delivered a remarkable dance performance that spotlighted the social evils of society and conveying the message that we still need to achieve freedom from these societal shackles. Patriotic song competitions, declamation, and speech competitions for different classes were also conducted by the school in connection with Independence Day, and the winners of various competitions were acknowledged with trophies and certificates.

The program concluded with the singing of “Vande Mataram.”Overall, the celebration was a beautiful amalgamation of thoughts that instilled a deep sense of nationalism among all present. Chocolates were distributed to everyone, and the celebrations were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
